چکیده

Faudree, R.J., R.J. Gould and L.M. Lesniak, Neighborhood conditions and edge-disjoint perfect matchings, Discrete Mathematics 91 (1991) 33-43. A graph G satisfies the neighborhood condition ANC(G) 2 m if, for all pairs of vertices of G, the union of their neighborhoods has at least m vertices. For a fixed positive integer k, let G be a graph of even order n which satisfies the following conditions: 6(G) 2 k + 1; x,(G) 2 k; and ANC(G) 2 n/2. It is shown that if n is sufficiently large then G contains k edge-disjoint perfect matchings. A matching in a graph is a set of edges of which no two have a common incident vertex. An s-matching is a matching with s edges and a perfect matching in a graph of order n is a matching with n/2 edges. The classic theorem of Tutte [S] characterizing those graphs with perfect matchings states that a nontrivial graph G has a perfect matching if and only if, for every proper subset S of V(G), the number of components of G S with an odd number of vertices is at most ISI. Anderson’s proof of Tutte’s Theorem [I] employs Hall’s Theorem [5], one form of which can be stated as: Let G be a bipartite graph with partite sets VI and V,, where IV,1 = IV,l. Then G contains a perfect matching if and only if for every subset S of VI, INAm 2 ISI, where NG(S) denotes the set of all vertices adjacent to at least one vertex of S. * Research supported under ONR Contract #NOOO14-88-K-0070. 0012-365X/91/$03.50

Perfect Matchings in Edge-Transitive Graphs

We find recursive formulae for the number of perfect matchings in a graph G by splitting G into subgraphs H and Q. We use these formulas to count perfect matching of P hypercube Qn. We also apply our formulas to prove that the number of perfect matching in an edge-transitive graph is , where denotes the number of perfect matchings in G, is the graph constructed from by deleting edges with an en...

Abstract—alexey Pokrovskiy

Alexey Pokrovskiy Aharoni and Berger conjectured [1] that every bipartite graph which is the union of n matchings of size n + 1 contains a rainbow matching of size n. This conjecture is related to several old conjectures of Ryser, Brualdi, and Stein about transversals in Latin squares. There have been many recent partial results about the Aharoni-Berger Conjecture. When the matchings have size ...

On disjoint perfect tree-matchings in random graphs

For an arbitrary tree T, a T-matching in G is a set of vertex-disjoint subgraphs of G which are isomorphic to T. A T-matching which is a spanning subgraph of G is called a perfect T-matching. For any t-vertex tree T we find a threshold probability function jj = jj( n) for the existence of r edge-disjoint perfect T-matchings in a random graph G(n,p).

Packing Plane Perfect Matchings into a Point Set

Let P be a set of n points in general position in the plane (no three points on a line). A geometric graph G = (P,E) is a graph whose vertex set is P and whose edge set E is a set of straight-line segments with endpoints in P . We say that two edges of G cross each other if they have a point in common that is interior to both edges. Two edges are disjoint if they have no point in common. A subg...

Rainbow Matchings and Rainbow Connectedness

Aharoni and Berger conjectured that every collection of n matchings of size n+1 in a bipartite graph contains a rainbow matching of size n. This conjecture is related to several old conjectures of Ryser, Brualdi, and Stein about transversals in Latin squares. There have been many recent partial results about the Aharoni-Berger Conjecture. The conjecture is known to hold when the matchings are m...
